Zelax Lab Privacy

This policy covers Zelax Lab at lab.zelax.com. Zelax Lab is operated by ZELAX INC. It brings people together to share ideas about human and robotic hands, including design, performance, accessibility, sensing and robotics.

Your shared Zelax account

Your Zelax account is shared with the Zelax website and other Zelax products. When you sign in or register using a Lab account form, your details are sent securely to the central Zelax membership service. The same account credentials are used across those products. The Lab does not keep a separate account password.

The membership service supplies your stable account identifier, username, name, email address and profile photo. Changes to shared profile information can appear in other Zelax products. Lab discussions, preferences, participation history and moderation permissions are maintained separately from the store. Store orders, payment details and delivery addresses are not part of the Lab membership connection.

Information you contribute

We process the discussions, replies, reactions, files and other information you submit, together with information needed to associate them with your Lab account. Your username, public profile photo and contributions to public areas can be seen by other people without signing in.

Public content may be indexed, quoted or cached by search engines and AI search services. Other people may save or share it. Removing content from the Lab does not automatically remove copies held elsewhere. Choose what you publish with this visibility in mind.

Messages and restricted areas are available to their intended participants and authorized people who administer, secure or moderate the service. They are not end-to-end encrypted.

Operating and protecting the Lab

We use account and technical information to provide sign-in, manage participation, remember preferences, deliver requested notifications, prevent spam and abuse, investigate problems and maintain backups. Technical information can include IP addresses, browser information, access times and security events.

Essential cookies maintain your session and preferences and help protect account forms. Blocking these cookies can prevent sign-in or other interactive features from working. Passwords, reset links and sign-in tokens require special protection and are not intended for public access.

We send account verification, password recovery and service messages when needed. You can manage available discussion-notification preferences in your Lab account. Necessary account and security messages are separate from optional discussion notifications.

Service providers and disclosure

Hosting, network protection and email infrastructure process information needed to run the Lab. Our current infrastructure includes DigitalOcean hosting, Cloudflare network protection and Zelax’s email service. Processing may take place outside your country.

Authorized staff may access information needed to operate and support the service. Information may also be disclosed when required by applicable law or to address fraud, abuse or threats to the service or its users. Zelax’s published privacy policy states that it does not sell personal information.

Retention and your choices

Account and Lab information are retained while needed to provide the service, maintain discussions, address moderation or security issues, and meet applicable obligations. Deleted or changed information may remain in backups until those copies are replaced through normal retention. Public discussion history and account deletion are separate matters; contact us if you need help with either.

You can review available profile and notification settings through your Lab account. You can contact us to request access, correction or deletion of personal information. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Deleting only Lab participation and deleting your shared Zelax account have different effects across Zelax products; we will clarify the requested scope.

Children and changes

Zelax’s services are not intended for children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information through the Lab.

We may update this page as the Lab’s features or practices change. Material changes will be communicated through the Lab or another appropriate account channel.
